The team at Bethesda in charge of Fallout 4 is offering all interested fans of the video game access to a beta version of the 1.4 update via the Steam digital distribution service, giving them a chance to see some of the tweaks that are coming to the open world experience in the coming weeks.

The major new features that have been introduced are focused on the development of settlements in the Wasteland and feature more options when it comes to both metal and wooden doors as well as some new signs that can be used to improve a location.

Abstract and portrait paintings are also featured in update 1.4 beta for Fallout 4, and there are also raider and Super Mutant themed objects to spread around, including meat totems, meat bags, carts, cages, tents and poles.

Bethesda is also offering a wide range of tweaks for the core game mechanics, including stability and performance fixes, with a focus on making sure that as many of the core quests and perks work as the company intended.

A full list of the changes that will be introduced via update 1.4 for Fallout 4 can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

Those interested in playing with the changes should go to their game in Steam, then click on the Beta tab before selecting the beta from the dropdown list before waiting for the actual files to be downloaded to their install.

Bethesda is not saying when the full version of update 1.4 for Fallout 4 will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Achievements for Automatron have been revealed

Presumably, the plan is to deliver the new update before the launch of the first piece of downloadable content for the video game, which is apparently centered around three new quests that will detail a gamer's fight against a powerful new force threatening the Commonwealth.

Three of the Achievements for Automatron called Headhunting, Mechanical Menace, and Restoring Order, are linked to them, and the other two are The Most Toys, awarded for creating ten robot mods, and Robot Hunter, offered for gamers who unlock ten robot mods.

The DLC will allow Fallout 4 players to craft their own special robot companion based on a variety of parts that they gather by taking out some powerful new mechanical enemies.

Wasteland Workshop is coming one month later and is designed to expand the range of building options associated with settlements while introducing cages that players can use to capture creatures that can then be pitted against one another.

The final piece of DLC announced for Fallout 4 is Far Harbor, which will introduce a new area and quest line centered around an island where factions are constantly fighting.

Bethesda has announced that it is working on more content for the game than initially thought and that it is raising the price of the Season Pass associated with the title after March 1 to reflect the value that fans will be getting before the end of 2016.
