Video game developer Bethesda might be best known for its work on the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series, but it seems that in the future they are planning to announce and launch some other titles that reflect their traditional approach to storytelling and core mechanics without using the same themes.

Todd Howard, who leads the studio, explains during the DICE conference, attended by Gamespot, that there are plenty of ideas that he is interested in exploring in the coming year.

He adds, "We actually have three kind of longer term projects we’re doing that are all – we’ll talk about them at a future date – but they’re different than anything we’ve done before, while also being a Bethesda-style game. Big and crazy, but in many ways different than things we’ve done before. It’s an exciting time."

According to the game creator, the current focus is on the development of extra content associated with Fallout 4, and only once that's done, will officially announcements be made about the new titles.

According to Todd Howard, the most recent post-apocalyptic open-world title performed well because gamers did not get too many details about the title before it was actually live, a policy that will continue for its next projects.

This probably means that fans of Bethesda will have to wait until 2017 or even later to get official information about the future video games that the company is working on.

Fallout 4 is getting a wide range of new content

Earlier in the week, the studio announced that its first three downloadable content packs will be delivered before the end of summer and will include Automatron, which will allow gamers to create their own robot companion, Wasteland Workshop, which will allow fights to be organized between creatures, and Far Harbor, built around a major new area that will include a range of new missions and enemies.

Bethesda is also announcing that it is increasing the price of the Season Pass for Fallout 4 starting on March 1 to better reflect the amount of content that players will get in the future, but those who already own it will not have to pay anything extra.

Pete Hines says that the development studio has plans to deliver more DLC, plenty of which will be story driven, and that it will reveal more of it once the initial batch of three is launched.

Before the launch of new content, players will also get access to a new version of the Survival Mode, which will ask players to carefully manage their food intake, their sleep and their healing capabilities in order to stay alive in the Wasteland and to deal with quests.

Fans are also waiting for Bethesda to deliver the Creation Kit, which will significantly expand the ways in which modders will be able to tweak the core Fallout 4 experience.

The studio is also planning to continue to offer updates for the open world experience, designed to eliminate bugs that the community has been flagging and to improve gameplay.
