The Fallout series has long been praised for its unique atmosphere, and the development team at Bethesda is aiming to make sure that gamers are drawn into the world of the next installment, which uses music as one of the main ways of delivering emotion.

A new profile of composer Inon Zur on the official site of the company explains how he plans to use unique sounds and combinations of instruments to enhance the feelings that gamers will have while exploring the post-apocalyptic world.

Gamers can also watch him play the main theme on the piano and can find out more details about his creative process.

Inon Zur says that he came up with a mix of real piano and electric piano for the piece of music and adds that he created "A sound that is really round and not bright at all but very lush. So following that lead on, there are multiple times that I use this. You also hear it first in the main theme. This is not a mistake or just a random choice. The piano will stay with us throughout the whole score."

Fallout 4 will introduce a world that's entirely new for the main character that emerges from the Vault, and the composer wants to use combinations of instruments to create a sense of place for each of the locations that he will visit.

Bethesda will deliver a massive new world based around Boston

For the first time in the series, gamers will be able to control their characters before the nuclear bombs hit, although it's unclear what effect this will have on their adventures after the apocalypse.

The development team is also promising more ways to interact with the environment and with others characters and an improved combat system.

Fallout 4 will also integrate a complex crafting system, which allows for 700 unique variations of the core 50 weapons and even makes Power Armor moddable.

Bethesda is also adding an ambitious option to create settlements and direct their evolution, all while protecting them from attackers and encouraging trade to flourish between them.

This element of the title is entirely optional, and even without it, this is the biggest world that the company has created for any game in the series.

Fallout 4 will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 10 of this year.
