Verizon and Motorola confirmed last week that they planned to announce new DROIDs on October 27. The DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 will be officially unveiled tomorrow and there's a high chance that customers will be able to pre-order them right away.

The main issue for the DROID family is the fact that most of them don't pack microSD card slot for memory expansion, which could be a deal breaker for lots of Android fans.

Well, it looks like Motorola has learned from its mistakes since the upcoming DROID smartphones will feature microSD card slot, according to the new Verizon brochures leaked via Phonearena.

These brochures also contain the full specs of the DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2, so those anxious to know as much as possible about these devices should be happy about it.

So, the sequel to the DROID Turbo has been confirmed to pack a 5.4-inch shatterproof display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Also, the smartphone is equipped with a 64-bit 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the DROID Turbo 2 boasts an impressive 21-megapixel shooter with dual-LED flash, Zero shutter lag and Rapid focus, while in the front the smartphone features a 5-megapixel selfie camera with flash and wide-angle lens.

Both handsets are offered with many design customization options

The smartphone will come with a 25W charger in the sales box, which should provide users with 13 hours of battery life after a 15-minute charge.

Motorola DROID Turbo 2 64GB will only be available for purchase via Moto Maker site, but owners will be given the option to refresh the design within 2 years.

Next in line, the DROID Maxx 2 sports a slightly larger 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

On the inside, the smartphone packs a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

DROID Maxx 2 comes with a similar 21-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and Rapid focus, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front.

According to Motorola, the DROID Maxx 2 will ship with a 15W charger in the sales package, which should offer up to 8 hours and 15 minutes of battery life after a 15-minute charge.

The smartphone will be available in two color versions (Black with Deep Sea Blue back, and White with Winter White back), but users will be able to customize it with Motorola Shells.
