Both smartphones will be introduced on October 27

We reported last week that Verizon and Motorola plan to launch new smartphones on October 27. The “culprits” are DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2, sequels of popular smartphones that were offered by the Big Red not too long ago.

Both DROID Turbo and DROID Maxx were solid devices even though they were missing microSD card slot. On a more positive note, Motorola is among the first handset makers that usually offer major Android updates to its devices.

However, since the DROID lineup is exclusive to Verizon, the carrier is the one that decides when to push new updates.

The DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 will most likely ship with Android Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but Motorola will surely offer Marshmallow upgrades as soon as possible.

We already had quite a few leaks hinting to DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 specs, so here is some new information courtesy to Droid-Life.

Moto Maker, trade-in offers, 48-hour battery life

Thanks to some promotional material that has just leaked online, we now know that DROID Turbo 2 will come with a shatterproof screen.

While this isn't necessarily the first time we hear about this, it's the first time that we get the information confirmed by an official document.

The promo flier also reveals a special offer for customers, which will allow them to trade in a phone, even one with a cracked screen, for up to $300 towards the DROID Turbo 2.

Furthermore, Motorola will also offer Moto Maker support for the DROID Turbo 2, so you will be able to customize your smartphone with the color and materials you wish (more than 1,000 combinations available).

Moving on to DROID Maxx 2, one of the promo fliers leaked confirms that the smartphone's battery should last for no less than 48 hours.

It will come with a removable and exchangeable back cover (green, red and black). Customers will also be able to take advantage of the same $300 trade-in offer like the DROID Turbo 2 one mentioned earlier.

But there's a catch since Verizon won't accept your older phone towards the DROID Maxx 2, if the display is cracked, so you need one in working condition.
