During the open beta for the coming reboot of Doom, the player community has criticized the development team at id Software for the limited number of dedicated options for those who are looking to play the first-person shooter on the PC.

Now the studio is using the official Bethesda publisher site to explain that it is thankful for all the feedback that it has received and that, after delivering some changes based on the player reports received during the closed beta, it is looking to make even more tweaks in the coming weeks.

id Software also claims that when Doom is launched, the framerate on the PC will not be capped in any way, and gamers will be able to modify a wide range of options to make the game look the best it can on their system.

The list of full advanced settings includes: manually lock framerate, unlocked at launch, lights quality, chromatic aberration toggle, shading quality, post-process quality, particles quality, game F/X quality, decal quality, directional occlusion, reflections quality, depth of field toggle, decal / texture filtering, motion blur quality / toggle, sharpening amount, lens flare toggle, lens dirt toggle, texture atlas size, show performance metrics, resolution scaling, UI opacity, film grain, rendering mode, FOV slider, simple reticle, show first-person hands toggle, use compute shaders and V-sync.

The developers add, "PC gaming is in our DNA here at id. Just like so many of you, we also love to tinker with settings to get the exact experience we want – and every ounce of performance our systems can handle."

Doom aims to offer a dynamic take on the shooter genre

id Software has been offering details about its multiplayer mode for a few weeks, showing the maps and the modes that gamers will be able to engage with and how the new demons and power-ups will tweak gameplay.

The company says that it wants gamers to stay on the move at all times and think quickly about the best way to take out enemies.

The development team also plans to offer a wide array of downloadable content for the shooter, including new maps, modes and power-ups, both for free and paid.

id Software and Bethesda have not yet offered too many details about the single-player campaign, but as always, gamers will have to battle a lot of demons to keep Earth safe.

Doom will be launched on the PlayStation 4 from Sony, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC on May 13.
