The company is not saying when deployment will take place

To the dismay of many fans of Destiny, the developers at Bungie are announcing that they are currently investigating the exploit associated with the Record Book for the Sparrow Racing mode and that it will find a fix for it and deploy it as soon as possible in order to make sure that the playing field is level.

The information comes from the official Twitter support account for the game, but so far no estimated time of arrival has been mentioned, although some gamers are speculating that deployment will take place during the morning of Thursday, December 10.

Bungie has also refused to offer too many details about the exploit because it believes the community should not be taking advantage of it before the hotfix is launched.

According to players who have been playing the new Sparrow Racing experience, gamers can simply walk up to the vendor at the Eververse Trading Company to look at the Record Book and then complete challenges listed in it to earn special rewards without actually paying to get it.

The item costs 1,000 Silver, which is the equivalent of 9.99 dollars or Euro in Destiny, and Bungie is certainly unhappy that gamers can get the benefits without actually spending their money on a microtransaction.

It's unclear whether the coming hotfix will simply eliminate the exploit or if it will also retroactively eliminate the various rewards that gamers have managed to obtain through it.

The Sparrow Racing event in Destiny is set to finish on December 29, and that means Bungie needs to eliminate all bugs associated with it as quickly as possible.

Some gamers have expressed disappointment at the fact that the studio aims to fix this exploit quickly but is not dealing with other problems associated with the mode and the recently deployed update 2.1.0.

Destiny will continue to get new content in the first few months of next year

The December update for the social shooter has introduced a wide range of tweaks to the Titan class and has also improved the balance of weapons, with the developers saying that they want to make sure that players use a variety of types depending on the situation.

Bungie claims that all the revenue obtained from microtransactions, like that linked to the Record Book, is used by a new live team to create extra content for the game, all of which will be offered for free over the coming months.

The game also recently received a Refer-a-Friend system and gamers can enjoy a new set of challenges associated with the King's Fall raid.

According to Activision, The Taken King might not be the last traditional expansion for Destiny and a new one might be delivered in the spring of 2016, although the company offered no hints about its content.

Bungie has said that adding a new class to the shooter is possible but that for the moment it is focusing on improving player experience and on adding more activities that anyone engaged with Destiny will enjoy.
