Sooner than many gamers expected, the developers at Bungie are delivering the 2.1.0 update for Destiny, which is designed to introduce some new content to the social shooter while also introducing some big changes to the balance of both weapons and classes.

The Sparrow Racing Live is now live, according to the official site, allowing gamers to talk to Tower character Amanda Holliday to get access to a range of quests and bounties that are linked to the racing mode.

The Eververse Trading Company is offering a range of new content, including new emotes and more packages that come complete with unique choices for those who are willing to spend real-world money.

The Sparrow Racing events are only live until the end of December so fans of Destiny should focus on them for a while to get all the associated rewards before time runs out.

The biggest tweaks for the core mechanics of the shooter are linked to the Titans, where the Sunbreakers are being nerfed to make sure that they no longer dominate Player versus Player modes.

The developers are targeting both active and passive abilities, and they are also increasing overall melee range for the entire class by 12.5 percent.

A full list of the changes can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article and fans should be prepared for a long read and some big discussions about the implications.

There are also big changes for all the weapons and gamers who want to get access to more exotics can choose between two entirely new ones and eight older ones that feature updated stats.

Bungie is also tweaking some maps and dealing with a crash that was affecting the Xbox One version of the game.

Destiny will continue to get tweaks in the coming months and next year

The December update for the shooter is pretty significant, and Bungie says that it has plans to continue making big improvements in 2016.

The money that the company is extracting from the microtransactions linked to the Eververse Trading Company is used by a new live team to offer content that it free to all those who have both the core game and The Taken King expansion.

Destiny has a very solid fanbase, and both the developers and the team at publisher Activision want to make sure that the number remains high in 2016.

Recently, the game has also received a new Refer-a-Friend system that allows newcomers to see the main features of the title in the company of a veteran, with both of them getting access to unique emotes and legendary swords for their Guardian.

According to Activision, traditional expansions are still possible for the game and one might be offered in the spring of next year.

There are also rumors that Bungie is using most of its resources to work on Destiny 2, which could be out on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft as soon as the autumn of 2016.
