The major update 2.0 for Destiny is apparently set to be offered to gamers before games on the West Coast go to lunch, according to Deej, the community manager working on the social shooter at Bungie.

His official Twitter account mentions Tuesday morning in another update, but he also says that he does not know a specific time because another team inside the studio is working on the actual deployment.

A full list of patch notes associated with the update 2.0 for Destiny will be published as soon as the update is live, and it's possible that gamers will notice a small discrepancy between the launch on the various platforms.

Gamers who are in the shooter when it arrives will be kicked from their activities and will have to download and apply it before returning to actual play.

Update 2.0 for Destiny is designed to introduce a major rebalancing for all the weapons in the shooter, with a focus on making a wider variety of the Exotics useful in the long term.

The voice of Nolan North will replace that of Peter Dinklage for the Ghost and the entire progression system for characters is getting a major tweak.

The Taken King is also coming to Destiny

Starting today gamers will receive a preview of all the new Crucible activities that are coming as part of the expansion and they will be able to test them for a one-week period, during which classic Heroics and Nightfall events will not be offered.

On September 15, The Taken King will be launched, introducing three new subclasses for gamers to use and a massive dreadnought area that they can explore, with new enemies and rewards to hunt for.

The Court of Oryx event will offer more options for gamers who are looking for end-game activities, with a range of new items and weapons offered for those who are able to deal with tough new enemy bosses.

On September 18, gamers who have picked up the expansion will also get access to the King's Fall raid, which allows gamers to go up against Oryx, the toughest boss that has ever been featured in the shooter.
