The development team has acknowledged an issue with the Shadowshot ability for the Nightstalker for a while now, but the development of a hotfix associated with it has taken time and only now are gamers able to download the new patch 2.0.1.2 for the social shooter, which is designed to deal with the problem and another couple of tweaks that the community has been requesting.

The official announcement explains that "The Nightstalker has been running wild with unlimited power in the sandbox. With this fix, we're bringing the new Void Super ability back into check, along with increases to rewards for specific activities and other changes to the player experience."

Bungie makes it clear that the current fix is only a temporary one and that a large set of changes for the ability will be introduced in a coming patch, although it is currently unclear when it might be launched.

The 2.0.1.2 hotfix for Destiny addresses a number of other issues linked to the game, with a full list available to all those who clock the button at the end of this article.

There are tweaks for the weekly Nightfall strike, the daily heroics, the Crucible and more.

Bungie is also offering some details about the Hard mode for King's Fall, which is currently scheduled to go live at 10 AM Pacific Time on Friday, October 23.

Gamers who play it will be able to get a guaranteed raid item drop each week without the use of Moldering Shards.

Hard mode for King's Fall will focus on gamers who have managed to equip powerful items and are looking for a stronger challenge from enemies.

Destiny is moving towards a microtransaction-powered future

The development team at Bungie is currently focusing on making sure that all the problems the fan community flags are dealt with as quickly as possible, but soon it will have to also offer details on exactly what kind of new content it will add to the social shooter.

With the addition of the Eververse Trading Company, gamers can spend real world money in order to get a new Silver currency and then use it to get access to some new emotes for their Guardians.

The company has suggested that in the future more such items will be introduced to Destiny, although it has made clear that it has no plans to sell boosts for raid drop rates, which some gamers managed to find in the official files associated with the title.

The use of microtransactions is designed to offer a new revenue stream for Bungie, which will be used to fund a live events team.

The plan is to use it to create free missions and quests that will be offered every few months in order to keep gamers engaged in the long-term.

Bungie has not said exactly what kind of new activities it will offer and whether it has plans to introduce all new modes to its game.

Rumors are also saying that an entirely new Destiny 2 is in development and will be launched on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in the fall of next year.
