The development team at Bungie is announcing that it is not planning to deliver a new set of Heroics and a new Nightfall activity for Destiny for the current week because the company is focusing on the delivery of the new 2.0 update and the preparations required for the arrival of The Taken King expansion.

The information comes from the official forums of the game, and the studio should probably make it more visible on the official site in order to make sure that the entire community is aware of the changes.

The suspension of daily and weekly Heroics and of the Nightfall strike is only affecting the period between September 8 and September 14.

Bungie is aiming to make sure that the deployment of update 2.0 for Destiny happens without a hitch because there are a huge number of tweaks that will be made to the core game mechanics.

All the weapons included in the shooter are getting changes linked to balance; the progression system is tweaked, and there are many other modifications based on the feedback the fans have offered.

Bungie says that a full list of patch notes will be offered on September 8, when 2.0 is being delivered to gamers.

The Taken King will be previewed in the Crucible

Between September 8 and 14, all Destiny players will also be able to experience the Crucible content that will be part of the new expansion for free.

Daily and weekly activities will be coming back on September 15, with some changes to the concepts that underpin them.

Dailies will be linked to the player account rather than the character, and a new Vanguard Heroic playlist will be introduced, with a new set of rewards designed to allow players to better develop their Guardians.

The Taken King expansion will also introduce the dreadnought as a new environment for gamers to explore and is also designed to expand the number of end-game activities that players will be able to take part in.

King's Fall for Destiny is coming on September 18, and the raid will allow gamers to take down Oryx, the toughest boss that's ever been offered in the social shooter.
