Bungie is not yet talking about the entire list of fixes

The player community seems to be mostly satisfied with the content that Bungie added to Destiny in the recent free April update. However, the studio is ready to deal with many of the issues that were introduced very quickly, planning to come up with the 2.2.0.2 update for the social shooter on Tuesday, May 3.

According to the official site, the plan is to make sure that some of the outstanding problems are now solved, starting with the fact that melee attacks were often ineffective, and few players relied on them in their Guardian build.

Jon Cable, the sandbox engineer in charge of the changes, explains that the lack of damage for a solid attack is usually linked to a networking problem and that the company will tweak the logic to address the issue.

He adds, "The new fix should make Arc Blade and Shoulder Charge much more reliable. There are still situations - especially when the target is moving away from you - where you will not connect."

Apparently, the changes are big enough that they will not be included in update 2.2.0.2 but will arrive at a later date.

The plan is to start deployment of the changes at 10 AM Pacific Standard Time and to add the melee based code on May 10 around the same time, with gamers able to offer feedback on the tweaks.

The new update will not add any new features to Destiny

According to the development team, there are some small issues with the recently added strikes and missions that will be dealt with and more changes that should improve the overall balance, although as per Bungie tradition, a full list will only be offered when the update goes live.

The studio is also apologizing for the loss of reputation that some players experienced when the new Iron Banner session went live and also explains that it has eliminated a related issue linked to the companion app.

The 2.2.0.2 update is just one of the patches that Bungie will deliver to fix problems with the game in the coming months.

Rumors are saying that a full paid expansion for Destiny, which will probably include a range of strikes as well as the long-awaited new raid, will be launched on September 20 of this year on both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Bungie and Activision are also working on a sequel to the shooter that will arrive in 2017.
