The team at Bungie has promised that the coming December update for Destiny will include some major changes to the Titan class, designed to make it more interesting for gamers to engage with it, and now the company is ready to deliver more details and a quick look at a section of the actual patch notes for update 2.1.0.

Sage Merill, who leads the sandbox development team at Destiny, explains on the official site that the Sunbreaker has been a little more powerful in the actual shooter than the team is intended and that, despite some issues with the overall balance, they had other priorities to deal with, including some major bugs.

The developer says there are three core nodes, called Forgemaster, Flameseeker and Cauterize, which seem to be responsible for most issues that gamers are reporting, so most changes will be linked to them.

Merill says all Titans in Destiny will have increased melee range, from 4 to 4.5 meters and that there are no plans to do the same for other classes.

The developer also offers more in-depth data to motivate the changes coming to Destiny and also explains that he has been leading when it comes to distribution in Player versus Player modes.

He adds, "the Defender is a force to be reckoned with when played correctly (providing backup and 'Instant Base!' functionality to a team).  However, they could use a little additional something to avoid getting squashed in the chart below.  So, we're giving the Defender back their Grenade and Charged Melee on Super cast.  That should help make them 'Ready for Anything'."

With the coming changes, some of which can be seen by clicking on the button at the end of this article, the Solar Titan should become more vulnerable in PvP, the Arc version should become viable again while the Void Titan should bring extra usefulness to a group.

Destiny is planning to launch the content update before the end of next week

Bungie is encouraging players to continue to offer feedback about the class they have chosen for their Guardians because the studio has long-term plans to continue to deal with balance when it does not have to eliminate bugs or glitches.

In the December update for Destiny, the team is also planning to introduce two new exotics and to bring back some older ones with updated stats and powers.

The weapons in the social shooter will also be better balanced, with the overall aim being to convince the community to try and use something other than pulse rifles, especially in PvP.

A full list of patch notes will probably be offered as soon as the new update is going live, which might happen as soon as Wednesday.

Bungie also has plans for Christmas, although it has not made them public, and more emotes and other content that can only be obtained via Silver will pop up in the Eververse Trading Company.

Recently the company introduced a new Refer-a-Friend feature that allows veterans and newcomers to play the shooter together and get access to some exclusive rewards.
