They believe that the narrative is not connected to the game

Dark Souls 3 can already be played in Japan, and the development team at From Software and publisher Bandai Namco are continuing to deliver promotional videos for the video game for the rest of the world, which will only be able to play the same experience on April 12.

The most recent marketing initiative from the two companies is an animated trailer called The Witches, which was directed by Eli Roth and is a little over two minutes long.

The footage abandons the unique style of the video game series and delivers a short story that many fans of the franchise are saying fails to make any sort of sense and does not offer any insight into the world that they will be able to explore in Dark Souls 3.

Eli Roth is best known for his directorial work on the two Hostel movies as well as on The Green Inferno and has a solid role in Tarantino's Inglorious Basterds.

The new video also creates a new occasion for gamers from the West to complain about the fact that they have to wait for the video game to arrive for another two weeks while fans in Japan can already play it.

Dark Souls 3 is the final entry in the franchise

From Software has said that it wants to make this installment the most interesting in the series, offering a new take on an already familiar universe and making sure that dedicated fans get some closure after their previous two adventures.

Dark Souls 3 will use a set of familiar mechanics, but the combat has been once again refined to make the battles even more engaging, and the boss fights filled with even more tension than before.

The game remains very mysterious, and the world is great to explore, but the difficulty of the game has not been toned down in any way, which might be a problem for those who have been unable to get into the previous two installments.

From Software has suggested that downloadable content might be offered this year but that it is already exploring other video game options that they want to focus on in the future.

Dark Souls 3 will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Bandai Namco is saying that, although gamers can pick up the Japanese version, they would be playing an incomplete version of the game and should wait until April 12.
