Alcatel is supposed to launch its first ever Windows 10 Mobile smartphone very soon. The OneTouch Fierce XL is expected to arrive at US-based carrier T-Mobile later this month, and it won't cost too much.

Windows Phone fans will be pleased to know that the OneTouch Fierce XL won't be the only device powered by Windows 10 Mobile operating system that will be launched by Alcatel in Q1 2016.

The company has just announced a new lineup of Android smartphones and tablets at CES 2016 trade fair, but also an affordable Windows 10 Mobile tablet.

Yes, you read that right. Alcatel's new Pixi 3 tablet will ship with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box, not Windows 10.

The slate sports an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display, but aside from that we don't know anything about the Pixi 3's specs sheet.

Windows 10 Mobile OS optimized for tablets

Some of the features that users will be able to take advantage of while using the slate have been mentioned by Alcatel.

“It offers customization through Color Skins and Flip Stand covers. Other hot features: TV remote control, voice-call enablement, GPS, and front and rear cameras.”

Alcatel also states that the entry-level Pixi 3 8-inch tablet will be equipped with a Qualcomm chipset inside and that it will offer 4G LTE support.

It's also worth mentioning that the Pixi 3 runs Windows 10 Mobile optimized for tablets, but those who already own a smartphone powered by the same version of the OS should feel at home on Alcatel's new tablet.

Unfortunately, there's no word on availability and pricing yet, but we suspect more details on the tablet's specs and other information for potential customers will be provided later this week at CES 2016, so stay tuned for more on this one.
