The development team at Treyarch and publisher Activision are announcing that the official Call of Duty World Leaguer is now live for all involved teams, with players able to spend both Tuesday and Wednesday for the coming 11 weeks watching some of the best players in the world as they design and execute new strategies in Black Ops 3.

All the matches can be seen on the site of the official eSports initiative associated with the franchise and in March the best performers will take part in the finals.

North American competitors include compLexity Gaming, Counter Logic Gaming, Dream Team, FaZe Clan, H2K Gaming, Luminosity Gaming, OpTic Gaming, Question Mark, Rise Nation, Team eLevate, Team EnVyUs, and Team Kaliber.

In Europe, the professionals are represented by Epsilon eSports, exceL eSports, Giants Gaming, Millenium, TCM Gaming, PuLse Gaming, Splyce, Team Infused, Team Spartan, and Team Vitality.

Finally, in the Australia and New Zealand division, gamers can see the following teams in action: The Chiefs, Apotheon Esports, Mindfreak, Nv, OrbitGG, Exile5, Tainted Minds, and Team Immunity.

All Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 matches associated with the World League are played using a system of bans and protects that allows teams to strategize before they even fire a shot, trying to interdict Specialists and tools to their opponents while preserving their strengths.

Activision is launching a big eSports push

The official site of the Call of Duty World League offers the classic streams for all the matches that take place, but gamers can also watch recaps and get more information about their favorite teams and players.

Activision has already announced that the best Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 gamers in the world will be fighting for a prize pool that's over 3 million dollars (2.7 million Euro), which is a serious one for the eSports space.

The publisher has recently announced that it has purchased the Major Gaming League, which is in business-related trouble, and that it has big plans to integrate its operations with its competitive, focused activities.

Activision sees that the eSports field is rapidly developing and wants to make sure that it is prepared to offer solid competitions linked to its most popular titles, including the Call of Duty series, Starcraft 2, Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to get access to its first downloadable content pack, called Awakening, early in February, with gamers able to get access to four new multiplayer maps as well as a new zombie-based episode.

More DLC is planned for the rest of 2016, and Treyarch has said that it also plans to deliver more free updates to make sure that the experience is as balanced as possible.

Video game developer Infinity Ward is in charge of the next title in the Call of Duty series, which will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 in the fall of this year.

Activision will reveal an official name and other details in time for the E3 2016 event.
