Video game developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have finally delivered new information about the new downloadable content pack coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which is called Eclipse and is expected to be offered on the PlayStation 4 in the middle of April and will be offered on the PC and the Xbox One at some point in May.

As usual, gamers will get access to four multiplayer maps, one of which is not entirely new for the series, and to a big new chapter for those who love the cooperative zombie experience.

The new maps coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 are:

- Spire, which takes gamers to sub-orbital airport high in the atmosphere, featuring multiple levels and open areas that lead to exciting middle-range combat, with the added danger of always plummeting to one's death;

- Knockout, set in a Shaolin temple with a retro look, with gamers able to engage in shootouts in the exterior area and then move to the interior to enjoy more close-up quarters engagements that will have terrible consequences for the well-designed rooms;

- Rift, located in the middle of a futuristic-looking military complex that sits on top of an activate caldera, the map is focused on constant movement that will keep gamers engaged as they seek to constantly take out enemies;

- Verge, a re-imagination of the Banzai map from Call of Duty: World at War map, takes place on a battlefield that's constantly fought over by two powerful factions, with gamers asked to control the various locations to ensure victory.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will also deliver some tweaks

For players who do not like multiplayer action, Treyarch is also introducing a new chapter for the undead cooperative mode, called Zetsubou No Shima.

Gamers will have to once again work together as they explore a remote island in the Pacific where Division 9 has a secret facility that has been experimenting with Element 115 and has created numerous powerful enemies, which compound the danger associated with the location.

Eclipse for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is part of the Season Pass, and gamers can also get it as a separate purchase for 15 dollars or Euro.

On April 19, the DLC will be launched for those who play the shooter on the PlayStation 4 and gamers will get it one month later on the PC and the Xbox One, with some attached gameplay changes.
