The development team at Bungie working on Destiny is announcing that it is aiming to launch the 2.02 update for the social shooter at exactly 10 AM Pacific Standard Time today, November 17, and that it is planning to reintroduce the Iron Banner mode as soon as the delivery of the patch is complete for all gamers.

A message from the official support Twitter account associated with the title says that, as soon as the deployment process begins, gamers might be kicked from their current activities and then asked to log into the shooter again.

Bungie is not saying how much time the update to patch 2.02 for Destiny will require for a typical player, but the delivery should be finished in a few hours on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and older home consoles.

The development team has a long standing policy about patch notes and will only make them available to the public when update 2.02 is finally arriving.

A balance pass for all the weapons included in Destiny is also coming, but no individual changes have been revealed so far.

The move is designed to allow players to see all the changes and discuss them only as they are implemented so that no pressure can be put on the team to make last-minute tweaks.

Bungie has announced that it plans to deliver a range of changes to Destiny, the biggest of which might be an ability for gamers to use Glimmer to get access to weapon parts, which are at the moment too scarce.

Gamers will also get access to the Quiver for the Nightstalker class once again, although the ability will no longer be overpowered during Player versus Player engagements.

Changes to the reward systems in both Iron Banner and the Crucible are also part of update 2.02, and the studio also wants both experiences to be better balanced to attract more players.

Destiny is getting more content before the end of 2016

Bungie has admitted that it will include some hints about its plans for the holiday season in the coming update 2.202, but the company is not yet ready to deliver an official announcement about the way it plans to celebrate the occasion.

The launch of microtransactions via the new Eververse Trading Company, which allows gamers to spend real-world money to get Silver to then buy emotes, means that a team inside the developer has more resources to deliver special events.

A drop of content that includes quests and missions is expected to arrive before the end of the year.

Bungie has suggested that it plans to offer all future content for the social shooter for free and that more microtransactions will be added in the coming months.

Activision is saying that the new business model can co-exist with the classic one, which means that a new major expansion might be introduced early next year.

Rumors are saying that a full-blown Destiny 2 is already in the works and should arrive before the end of 2016 on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
