The studio seems to deny it is aiming for that date

Bungie is at the moment clearly focused on the delivery of updates and tweaks that will improve the current Destiny experience, but the company has also chosen to address, even if rather obliquely, the rumors that the paid expansion for Destiny for this year will be launched on September 20.

In the most recent weekly site update, the company explains that "Oh, and hey. Rezyl Azzir is not one of us. We cannot confirm nor can we decipher these riddles. It's a mystery to us as well. Fun stuff, though. If you don't know what we're talking about, don't worry about it. If you do, enjoy the speculation."

The phrase seems to suggest that the recent leak of a Grimoire card mentioning a Latin phrase that hints at a new threat coming to the universe of the video game on September 20 and that ends with the classic "Forward, to the stars" is not accurate in its prediction.

Fans corroborated this with the fact that Destiny and The Taken King were delivered during the same month and decided that the date would be used for the paid expansion that has been confirmed by the developers and by Activision.

Expect more leaks and rumors about the new content to start appearing over the summer before Bungie makes an actual announcement and shares details, probably sometime after the E3 2016 event.

Destiny is preparing to get a melee fix

The plan is for the company to deliver the 2.2.0.2 update on Tuesday, May 3, with some fixes and improvements that have not yet been detailed while the change notes are set to appear once they have all been implemented in the social shooter.

One week later, Bungie is also aiming to deliver a melee fix for Destiny, which will make sure that using these kinds of attacks during combat will be more effective, especially for gamers who have specced their Guardians right.

The studio plans to then monitor the feedback coming from the player base and make other tweaks to balance the new system.

Destiny is one of the most successful shooters of the moment, and Bungie faces a tough task for the rest of the year. It tries to keep gamers engaged while also diverting most of its resources to the development of the sequel that will arrive on both the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft in 2017.
