One of the celebrity couples to split this summer was that formed by actress Megan Fox and actor Brian Austin Green, who have been together on and off for over a decade. They were married for 5 years and have 2 children together, and the divorce is proving an amicable one so far.

In court papers filed some hours ago and obtained by TMZ, Brian Austin Green is asking Megan for spousal support, because she is the breadwinner in the family.

Injury makes work difficult

In December 2014, Brian and Megan were involved in a serious car accident, but only he was injured. Since then, he’s been suffering from vertigo, which at times gets so debilitating he had to drop out of previously set working commitments because of it.

In other words, Brian hasn’t worked much since the accident. Megan, on the other hand, is having a second career peak, after she and director Michael Bay kissed and made up, and he cast her in the first “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie.

Because he’s in no position right now to provide for himself, Brian is asking a court to give him access to a chunk of Megan’s money. Rumors that he might ask for spousal support first emerged online a while back, when “sources” also went to the tabs to claim that the marriage failed because Megan’s career was going places again while his had hit a roadblock.

An amicable divorce

With all that and contrary to how we’ve seen things play out before with Hollywood couples, the divorce is a very amicable one.

Megan and Brian are still living in the same house and co-parenting their 2 kids together and his son from a previous relationship, and they have even been photographed by paparazzi out on family dates.

If there is any bad blood between them, they’re very careful not to show it.

Megan and Brian met when she was very young and still many years from becoming one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood. At the time, he was the bigger star, thanks to his stint on “Beverly Hills 90210.”

When her career took off with the “Transformers” films, they began having some issues, which led to several breakups. Megan’s co-star Shia LaBeouf claimed at one point that he’d slept with Megan while shooting for “Transformers” together, implying that she’d cheated on Brian.

The two became engaged in 2010, after Brian proposed for the second time, and were married in Hawaii one month later.
