Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are divorced, and rumor has it the split was actually very nasty

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were married for 4 years and together for 10 before deciding a short while ago to call quits on their relationship. Blake filed for divorce and it was made official by a judge the other day.

The two have released a statement saying the split was amicable and refusing to engage in a discussion on the reasons leading up to it. The rumor mill is doing that for them, with speculation that infidelity must have played a major part in the breakup.

Miranda didn’t cheat, but Blake did

The other day, word got out that Blake filed for divorce when he got information confirming an older suspicion he had that Miranda was cheating on him while on the road. He first suspected that when she toured with Chris Young a couple of years back, the report noted.

For what it’s worth, Chris’ denial is available below: there was never anything improper going on between himself and Miranda, he just opened for her and is a close friend of hers and Blake’s, he says.

The same report claimed that Blake was heartbroken and very disappointed and that he never imagined Miranda would cheat on him, with at least 2 different men.

According to TMZ, Miranda is convinced that these rumors are the work of a PR firm hired by Blake with the sole purpose of making him look good in an unfavorable situation. He’s also doing this because he wants to keep the truth from coming out, namely that he was the cheater.

“The sources claim Blake’s camp was unscrupulous, and threw mud with the help of a powerful PR firm that attacked Miranda before the ink was dry on the divorce docs,” the report notes. Apparently, Blake cheated with a “famous country singer,” whoever she might be.

Other popular theories for the divorce

Scrolling through celebrity rags or blogs, you get many other theories that explain the divorce, some more far-fetched than others.

While the cheating one remains a favorite, the runner-up is the babies theory. Sources claim that Blake wanted to start a family but Miranda didn’t because she liked to have time for herself and for her career, as well as the liberty to be away for months in a row, touring.

There are also insiders saying that Miranda wanted children but Blake didn’t, because starting a family would have meant a more serious commitment and he was already feeling “trapped” in the relationship.

Other insiders say that they didn’t spend enough time together to work through their problems, because their careers were always in the way. When they did manage to find time to be a regular couple, they would fight over stupid things, and it further drove them apart.

In other words, you can take your pick on which story to believe about the end of one of the most popular couples in country music. For the time being, it’s all fans have.
