A Mass Effect announcement should have taken fans by surprise earlier this year, but BioWare decided to delay the reveal of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition due to quality concerns. Today, BioWare has taken the wraps off of three enormous games bundled into a package called Mass Effect Legendary Edition.

Now, before you get too excited, it's important to mention that Mass Effect Legendary Edition doesn't have a release date yet, but we do know it will come out during Spring 2021, as per Bioware's official statement.

As far as the content the bundle will include, BioWare revealed that Mass Effect Legendary Edition will feature single-player base content and DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, plus promo weapons, armors, and packs. All content will be remastered and optimized for 4K Ultra HD, and it will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in Sprint 2021.

According to BioWare, forward compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 will be added later on, so we got to hope that will happen sooner rather than later. But that's not all!

Mass Effect fans will be pleased to know that BioWare is already working on the next chapter in the saga. The developer confirmed that it's already in the early stages of the project and that they can't say more for the moment.

Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.

Obviously, there will be some time before we get any news about the next Mass Effect game, although we're hoping that BioWare will be able to reveal tidbits of information by the time Legendary Edition comes out next year.
