The new console will probably arrive before end of summer

A new rumor suggests that the long-awaited Beyond Good and Evil 2 is at the moment developed using resources from video game publisher and hardware creator Nintendo and is supposed to arrive exclusively on the coming NX home console when it is finished.

The information comes from two separate sources that have shared the same bullet points about the future of the title with Destructoid, and both are currently saying that the plan is to launch the video game sometime in 2017.

Apparently, the new Beyond Good and Evil has also received a code name, The Prejudices of Philosophers, which is a direct reference to the work of Friedrich Nietzsche that deals with the way authority can influence morality and it needs to be regarded as more than a simple set of black-and-white rules of behavior.

The rumor is not saying whether there are major gameplay or story changes made to the title to make sure that it represents a good fit for the Nintendo NX or when an official announcement about its new direction will be made.

It seems that the Japanese company is aiming to get a boost in terms of goodwill by supporting Beyond Good and Evil 2 and by making sure that it finally arrives on the market, although the results of its previous such effort, which targeted Bayonetta 2, were mixed.

The new video game is still created by Michel Ancel and his team at Ubisoft Montpellier, and they have recently offered some more details about the vision for the experience in a stream that featured the first title in the series.

The game has been in development in various forms since 2008.

The NX will probably be launched before the end of summer

It's unclear whether the extra support for Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a one-off or a sign of a wider strategy on the part of Nintendo as it seeks to secure exciting video games for the launch of its new home console.

Rumors are saying that, at the moment, there are manufacturing runs going on in factories in Taiwan and that selected developers have received access to kits that allow them to see what the main capabilities of the platform are.

Sources are saying that the capabilities of the device will be about the same as those of the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

The plan is to launch full production for the Nintendo NX at some point in late spring and to make an official announcement about it in early summer, with actual launch taking place before the end of the season.

The company is predicting that it will manage to move from 10 to 12 million units to gamers before the end of the year, and some attractive titles, like Beyond Good and Evil 2, are required to make sure that players are interested in getting one.

Nintendo is apparently also planning to offer a new Zelda video game, which uses a full open-world structure alongside the NX when it launches.
