Human Head Studios has closed its doors only recently

Bethesda made headlines quite often in the last couple of months and not because of some admirable endeavors, on the contrary. After launching the Fallout 76 season pass the same day Obsidian released its most recent game, The Outer Worlds, Bethesda had to fix many of the issues that the season pass inadvertently introduce in the game.

Fast forward a few weeks and Bethesda is making headlines again, but this time it's something positive. The US company helped the folks at Human Head Studios land on their feet after the studio closed its doors.

Human Head Studios is the same developer responsible for games like the original Prey, Rune, and The Quiet Man. Bethesda has decided to hire the entire team from Human Head Studios, but under a different brand: Roundhouse Studios.

Sadly, we had to wind down the business of Human Head Studios and close its doors, which was particularly devastating due to the passion and creativity of the team we’d assembled. We reached out to our friends at Bethesda for help, and they saw that same creativity and passion in our team. With the formation of Roundhouse Studios, Bethesda offered every employee of Human Head a position at the new company,” said Chris Rhinehart, creative director at Roundhouse Studios.

It's unclear what project Bethesda plans to entrust to the folks at Roundhouse Studios, although chances are they will work on an already ongoing project. Another Prey title would be great as well, but Roundhouse Studios will probably have to work with Arkane Studios, makers of the reboot released in 2017.

While sorry to hear of their challenges as Human Head Studios, we were excited by the opportunity to bring under the Bethesda umbrella this talented, established development team. We are delighted that the entire staff will remain together and is now part of the Bethesda family,” said Todd Vaughn, senior vice president of development at Bethesda.
