14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, Atari has just announced the immediate availability of its smash hit, RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic, on both the Android and iOS platforms.
The game is available in the App Store and Google Play for $5.99 and promises to offer a brand new RollerCoaster Tycoon experience, which combines the best features from two of its most popular games in the series' history: RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2.
“As the creator of the original RollerCoaster Tycoon PC games many years ago, I have seen how much excitement and entertainment they have brought to players all over the world. It was my long term ambition to bring the classic game to modern touch screen devices as its visual style and tactile nature are so well suited to smartphones and tablets,” said Chris Sawyer, Producer.
The game was developed by Origin8 Technologies and published by Atari. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic has been especially designed for touch screen devices, but developers claim they have kept the unique graphics style of the original games in the series.
Among the most important features that players will be able to take advantage of, developers mention coaster construction, park designer, park management, exciting environments, as well as park scenarios.
With the help of the Park Scenario Editor, players will be given the power to design and build their own parks, either challenging or very easy.
They can also use the scenery of their choice and rides. It's also worth mentioning the toolkit comes with Six Flags parks.
One thing that RollerCoaster fans should keep in mind is that the game costs $5.99, but there is additional content to be bought via in-app purchases.
Wacky Worlds Expansion Pack, Time Twister Expansion Pack and Toolkit (Park Scenario Editor, Ride Designer, Import and Export), which allows players to share their save parks, park scenarios and ride designs with friends, must be purchased separately.
