Asus has been doing quite well in the past year, and during the CES 2017 event earlier this month, the company announced two new devices, the ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom. Asus is apparently preparing to unveil a new phone, the ZenFone 3s Max.

ZenFone 3s Max’s main selling point is surely the massive battery of 5,000mAh, as its other specs are quite negligible and fall in the mid-range category. Still, since high battery capacity is one of the most important items on the wishlist when buying a new phone, the ZenFone 3s Max could very well appeal to customers who are looking for a reliable phone with a battery that would last for more than a day.

The ZenFone 3s Max has a 5.2-inch HD display with built-in bluelight filter and 2.5D curved glass screen. It runs a 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 chipset clocked at 1.5GHz and coupled with Mali T860 graphics processing unit, not exactly flagship SoC, but quite reliable for a mid-ranger.

ZenFone 3s Max will be unveiled next week

Moving on, the smartphone has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory which can be expanded to 2TB using a microSD card. It weighs in at 175 grams and has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual LED real-tone flash and 52MP super resolution.

On the front, it has an 8MP selfie shooter with 85-degree field of view. The phone will run Android 7.0 Nougat with ZenUI 3.0 out of the box and features a fingerprint scanner in the front.

The ZenFone 3s Max is expected to be an upgrade to the ZenFone 3 Max which was announced in July last year. The battery capacity was upped, while display size and RAM stayed the same. The 3s Max does bring some improvements, but they don’t seem like major changes. Recent reports say the phone will be announced next week, on February 7, in India.
