French company Archos announced its first Windows 10 Mobile handset back in September at IFA 2015 trade fair, but the smartphone did not make it to market until this week.

Today, the folks over at WindowsCentral have been tipped on the availability of the Archos 50 Cesium in a few European countries.

Archos 50 Cesium is an entry-level smartphone powered by Windows 10 Mobile, which is why customers won't have to pay a fortune for it.

The smartphone is now available in the UK and France for just £100 or €100, respectively. Customers can grab the handset via Archos' online store in these countries so shipping fees might apply as well.

Moving on to specs, as mentioned earlier, Archos 50 Cesium is far from being impressive spec-wise. First of all, the smartphone comes equipped with a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor inside.

Also, the handset packs 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

No word on North American availability yet

One of the strong points of the Archos 50 Cesium, the 8-megapixel camera on the back, features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There's also a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Archos 50 Cesium sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It's also powered by a 2,100 mAh battery and offers both 3G and dual-SIM support.

Although the smartphone is only available in the UK and France, we expect Archos to launch it in other European countries where Windows Phone devices are selling well.

Unfortunately, it's unclear whether or not Archos 50 Cesium will jump the pond, so customers in the United States and Canada may be forced to order one directly from Archos' European stores if they really must own one.
