Apple informed application developers on Monday that starting July 2018 all iOS app updated must be built with the latest iOS 11 SDK and support the Super Retina display of the iPhone X.

The Cupertino, California based company says in a blog announcement on its developer website that the latest iOS 11 mobile operating system delivers innovative features to make iOS apps more intelligent and unified, as well as to offer users more immersive experiences.

For that, applications developers must take advantage of the latest new features and enhancements Apple implemented in the Core ML and ARKit frameworks, the new camera APIs and SiriKit domains, as well as the Apple Music integration and drag and drop support for iPad, among many others.

New and updated apps must support iPhone X's Super Retina display

Apple is now urging all application developers to build new apps and update their existing ones with support for iPhone X's Super Retina display and the latest iOS 11 SDK (Software Development Kit), which available at their disposable on the Apple Developer website, starting July 2018.

"iOS 11 delivers innovative features and the redesigned App Store to hundreds of millions of customers around the world," said Apple. "Starting July 2018, all iOS app updates submitted to the App Store must be built with the iOS 11 SDK and must support the Super Retina display of iPhone X."

As such, from July 2018, Apple will only accept iOS apps in the App Store that built with the latest iOS 11 SDK and support the Super Retina display of its iPhone X smartphone. Applications that do not meet these simple requirements won't be accepted in the App Store, no matter if it's a simple update to an existing app.

iOS 11 is already running on more than 76 percent of the supported iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, and Apple is currently working on the next major update, iOS 11.4, which received a new beta version earlier today. However, Apple will unveil the massive iOS 12 software update next month during the WWDC 2018 event.
