Apple has re-released the first beta version of its upcoming watchOS 5 operating system for supported Apple Watch devices to application developers after it pulled the build from its servers due to several reports of bricked devices.

Apple released the first watchOS 5 beta to registered application developer last week after its keynote presentation that kicked off the 2018 WWDC (Worldwide Developer Conference) event. The watchOS 5 beta was available via Apple's developer portal along with beta versions of iOS 12, macOS Mojave 10.14, and tvOS 12.

A few days after its release, Apple removed the watchOS 5 beta from its Apple Developer portal due to several developers reporting installation issues that would brick their Apple Watch devices, saying "Seed 1 of watchOS 5 is temporarily unavailable. We are investigating an issue that occurs while updating."

Today, Apple re-released the first watchOS 5 beta, which application developers interested in installing it on their Apple Watch devices dedicated to watchOS app development can now download and install via OTA (Over-the-Air) updates if they grab the beta profile from the Downloads page of their Apple Developer account.

watchOS 5 coming this fall with many new features

Introduced at WWDC 2018, the watchOS 5 operating system will be released this fall, probably in mid-September, with numerous new features and enhancements. Among these, we can mention interactive notifications, automatic detection of workouts, smarter Siri watch face, and support for audio apps to run in the background.

watchOS 5 also promises to add audio controls within apps, allowing users to adjust the volume and control playback more easily, the ability to detect Parkinson’s disease, activity competitions so you can compete with your friends, all-new Yoga and Hiking workouts, advanced running features, and a Podcasts app.

Another exciting new features of the watchOS 5 operating system is called Walkie-Talkie, which promises to transform two Apple Watch devices into walkie-talkie devices for one-on-one conversations, though it will only work over LTE or Wi-Fi connections. watchOS 5 will be supported on Apple Watch Series 1, 2, and 3, but not on the original Apple Watch.
