Instead of Acts structure, we'll get seasonal updates

Anthem probably beats Mass Effect 3 as the most seriously botched launch made by EA in the last several years. However, it appears that the publisher has no plans to distance itself from the third-person shooter, at least not anytime soon.

Anthem is a good example of an unfinished product coming to market due to bad management. But there's no reason to continue to bash Bioware's title, as few people continue to play it to date, and rightfully so since there's not much content in Anthem.

Anyway, if you didn't purchase the game after the first review hit Metacritic, you might want to consider taking a look at the game for just $5. Anthem is joining EA Access, so paying $5 will give you access to the publisher's entire catalog of games, not just Anthem, so we'd say it's a good deal.

In the same piece of news, Bioware's Head of Live Service, Chad Robertson stated the studio's plans for Anthem. Although there have been many statements like this in the past, which promised lots of improvements to the game, players only got some quality-of-life changes and bug fixes.

Anyway, the last statement coming from Bioware mentions that it has decided to replace the Acts structure for updates with seasonal updates that will bring more meaningful changes to Anthem.

We hear your concerns on core issues in Anthem and are acting on it. Those systems require a more thorough review and re-working versus quick fixes. We’ve got a team working on that now, and early results are promising.

Apart from the structure of the updates that Anthem will receive going forward, there is absolutely no news about the long-term changes that Bioware might or might not bring to the game. However, Robertson says that the studio will continue to ask for the community's feedback through PTS where it can show what's coming for Anthem.
