14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has already kicked off the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in South Korea, but the update hasn't yet propagated to more countries.
Today, a new report suggests Samsung has already started a beta program for another high-end Galaxy smartphone, but this one is very limited.
It looks like 200 AT&T Galaxy Note 5 owners have been selected in an Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta program, which is meant to test the build and provide feedback.
Many of the selected participants have already received emails containing instructions on how to install the Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta update using Samsung's application.
In fact, some of Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920A) owners have already received this Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta with build number MMB29K.N920AUCU2BPB1.
In case you're not one of them, you should know the update is about 1355MB in size, so you will need that storage space freed before attempting to upgrade.
February security update included
Another interesting piece of information provided by beta testers who received the beta build is that it contains the latest security update released by Google in February.
Usually, these beta tests don't take too long, but the global rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for Samsung smartphones may take up to a few months. Hopefully, that won't happen with Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5.
The changes included in this Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta build for Galaxy Note 5 are unknown for the moment, but judging from the screenshots posted by a beta tester it doesn't look like Samsung made too many visual changes.
However, we're expecting significant improvements in battery life and overall performance of the phablet after the update.
