After teasing their next game for about two months, the fine folks at Frictional Games have just revealed the second sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a game that made its debut on PC ten years ago, will be launched this autumn.

The game is called Amnesia: Rebirth and features a new story set in a desolate Algerian desert. The next nightmare from Frictional Games is said to represent yet another evolutionary leap for the horror games developer, challenging players to remain calm in the face of unimaginable terror.

As pointed out in the previous teasers released by Frictional, Amnesia: Rebirth will focus on new character Tasi Trianon as she sets out on a harrowing journey through devastation and despair, personal terror and pain, while exploring the limits of human resilience.

The main objective of the game will be to retrace Tasi’s journey and pull together the fragments of a shattered past before being devoured you by a pitiless horror. Naturally, time is an important factor in Amnesia: Rebirth, especially if it works against you.

You can’t let out a breath. The creature is only inches away. Its sole purpose - to feed off your terror. And so you crouch in the dark, trying to stop the fear rising, trying to silence what lies within you.

Amnesia: Rebirth promises a first-person narrative horror experience, challenging puzzles, a unique system that lets you manage your limited resources, both physical and mental, as well as encounters with horrific creatures that want to devour you.

While we don't have an exact release date for the game yet, Frictional Games announced that Amnesia: Rebirth is scheduled for release in autumn 2020 on PC and PlayStation 4. You can even wishlist the game on Steam if you want to follow along with the updates as they are released.
