Xiaomi is preparing to release a new device to the market, the Xiaomi Mi 5s. Specs of the upcoming smartphone have been leaking for some time now, and the latest hearsay reveals that it will feature dual-camera setup. It’s not quite out of the ordinary since many handsets expected in the coming months are said to have this feature.

Xiaomi Mi 5s will be the successor to Mi 5, the company’s flagship that was released in the first quarter of this year. It featured a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5.15-inch display and came in multiple variants, depending on RAM capacity and internal storage.

Variants were available with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32/62/128GB of memory. It also came with a 16MP rear camera with PDAF and optical image stabilization. In addition, it had a 3,000mAh battery, USB Type-C, and supported 4G LTE.

The Mi 5s has leaked at GizmoChina, and the website reports that the smartphone will be coming with dual-camera setup on the back. This would make the Mi 5s the first Xiaomi handset to come with such lenses, considering that last month Samsung was said to provide Xiaomi with dual cameras.

Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to come with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

Aside from the dual-camera setup on the back, Xiaomi Mi 5s will also be coming with a pressure-sensitive display and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, as well as a curved screen and glass body. Rumors suggest specs on the device will include a 5.7-inch FHD display with SD 821 inside, together with 6GB of RAM. In addition, it will come in multiple variants based on RAM capacity and storage.

One variant will have 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, with a 1080p display and a 16MP camera on the back. The second and third variants will have 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, 2K curved display, and the dual-camera setup of 12MP each. The smartphone is rumored to launch in August, and considering its specs, it will surely catch the attention of consumers.
