14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung is busy working on its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy Note 8, which is expected to arrive sometime in the second half of this year. Recent rumors stated that the Galaxy Note 8 could be announced during IFA Berlin, which debuts on September 1.
An image revealing the schematics for the Galaxy Note 8 has just surfaced over at SlashLeaks. Take the information with a grain of salt for now, as although the schematics do seem accurate at first glance, they could in fact be fake.
That being said, the image shows a vertical dual-camera setup on the back of the Galaxy Note 8, together with bottom and top speakers on the upcoming smartphone for providing an enhanced audio experience to users.
Fingerprint sensor located on the back of the device
In addition, the smartphone appears to come with a round fingerprint sensor on the back. Samsung wanted to feature a scanner built into the Galaxy S8 display, but the technology wasn’t ready for mass production. If the schematics are to be believed, it seems that the Galaxy Note 8 will retain the fingerprint sensor on the back and won’t in fact incorporate a new technology under the screen.
Recent rumors point towards a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED curved Infinity Display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 3840x2160 pixel resolution. The phone will obviously come with an improved S Pen stylus and an iris scanner in the front.
Support for USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack should be expected, together with the latest Android 7 Nougat version and IP68 certification for the upcoming smartphone. Internal storage should reach 64GB, while the phone will feature fast charging and wireless charging support. Samsung’s virtual assistant Bixby should also be featured on the new phone.
The Galaxy Note 8 will presumably run the Snapdragon 836 SoC, together with 6GB of RAM. Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 8 in early September and thus get a head start before Apple unveils its OLED iPhone 8.
