Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016), one of the most affordable smartphones launched by the South Korean company this year made its debut on the market back in January.

The Android smartphone is already available for purchase in the United States via Boost and Virgin Mobile, but they won’t remain the only carriers in the country to offer the Galaxy J1 (2016).

According to @evleaks, Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) will soon make its way to AT&T. There’s no word on price and availability yet, but we can expect the carrier to announce it in the next couple of weeks (possibly on April 1).

Also, we’re not sure whether or not the AT&T-branded version of Galaxy J1 (2016) will be slightly different specs-wise in comparison with the standard model launched back in January.

However, we do know for sure that the AT&T Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) will come with some bloatware from the carrier, so keep that in mind before getting one.

When it comes to specs, the Galaxy J1 (2016) is far from being impressive, but Samsung’s focus was on price when they released the handset.

Decent CPU for an entry-level smartphone

That being said, let’s see what Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) has to offer in terms of hardware. First of all, the smartphone comes equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3475 processor, coupled with a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

Even though the smartphone packs just 8GB of internal memory, users can expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot. At the back, the phone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Speaking of which, Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) offers 4G LTE support, as well as other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS.

The Galaxy J1 (2016) will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but don’t expect a Marshmallow update since this is an entry-level smartphone.

Last but not least, the affordable device is powered by a removable 2,050 mAh battery and sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.
