If you still had doubts, yes, Adele is back! Over the weekend, during The X Factor on ITV, a 28-second teaser of what sounded very much like a new Adele song aired, sending the Internet into a frenzy of speculation and expressions of utmost joy.

It’s been 5 years since the singing phenomenon has released any new music, and even though her older stuff still gets plenty of airplay for fans to feel like she’s “missing,” there was a great need for something new as well.

The teaser came just as rumors were picking up that Adele would finally release a new album, her third, in November. The same reports claimed that it would be called “25,” in keeping with her choice for title for the previous 2 as well.

In an open letter posted to Twitter, Adele confirms that “25” is the name of the album, but she doesn’t offer a release date for it. What she does instead, as you can see below, is talk about the direction the material will take.

“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record,” she writes. “I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”

Adele is the ultimate singer of the broken heart, but after 2 albums, it sounds like she’s done with crying (in song) over her exes.
