The first Windows 10 Mobile handset that goes on pre-order this year, Acer Jade Primo, won't come cheap at all.

Even though Acer announced earlier this year at CES 2016 trade fair that its Windows 10 Mobile flagship would cost around €570, it looks like the smartphone has been overpriced.

At least one European carrier is now taking pre-orders for Acer Jade Primo, WMPU reports. It looks like the smartphone is now available at Orange Portugal for around €600 outright.

Considering that Acer has confirmed the suggested retail price of the smartphone will be €570, the Portuguese carrier made it more expensive than Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL flagship.

Acer might have a major problem here since most customers would choose Microsoft's Lumia 950 XL over the Jade Primo, especially that the former is now cheaper.

However, there's a chance that Jade Primo's price might drop under €600 once the smartphone arrives in stock and more retailers offer the device.

Acer Jade Primo hasn't been confirmed for the US market yet, but it will certainly be available in just about all European countries in the coming months.

Powered by Windows 10 Mobile operating system right out of the box, the Jade Primo is one of the few smartphones that offer Continuum for Phones support, which is one of the many reasons that it's been slightly overpriced.

The specs

Hardware-wise, Acer Jade Primo comes packed with a powerful 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor paired with an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone features 32GB of storage inside that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot. There's also an impressive 21-megapixel shutter on the back, which features autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording.

Acer Jade Primo comes with a secondary 8-megapixel camera in the front and USB Type-C port. It offers 4G LTE support, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS with AGPS.

Last but not least, Acer's flagship smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.
