The number of fans for strategy-RPG games is growing by the day and Atlus is one of the companies that are trying to take advantage of the situation as much as possible. Zoids Assault joins the lineup of 2008 releases of Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3, offering Xbox 360 fans all over the world a chance to select and play the game that suits them best.

For example, if you are a hardcore fan of mechanized dinosaurs loaded with huge cannons and havoc-wrecking weapons, Zoids Assault might be the game you're waiting for. You'll have to manage a team of enormous beasts of steel through a series of military conflicts and prove to yourself that your tactical/strategic thinking is way better than the AI.

The game story revolves around the effects of the war between the Guylos Empire and the Republic of Helic, that reached such proportions that it dragged other nations into the fight as well - the formerly neutral Maroll and Jamil. Decades after the conflict has ended, the warring nations' economy and infrastructure aren't fully recovered and things don't seem to have a bright future, either. There's a cold war going on and a mysterious explosion at one of the Maroll's military bases results in an expedition into Jamil territory - an expedition that proves that the final days of the war can be linked with the present.

Even though not specified, it seems that Zoids Assault will be turn-based strategy-RPG (or, at least, the fighting scenes will be). Players will get the chance to command armies of Zoids and outclass their opponents using advanced military tactics (you will have to do it, since it appears that most of the times your troops will be outnumbered). And, in order to turn your gaming experience into a more enjoyable one, you will get the chance to customize your units as you see fit by upgrading them with all sorts of weapons and armors.

The Xbox 360 exclusive Zoids Assault will be released worldwide on the 26th of August.
