14 DAY TRIAL // Zer01 Mobile has formally launched its nationwide unlimited voice, data and Web mobile wireless service, meant to offer users the possibility to make voice calls, navigate on the Internet, send or receive text messages and view videos on their smartphones for only a small monthly fee. The company offers the new service as a mobile virtual network enabler, and has also announced partnerships with the likes of Netmovies.com, an online entertainment network.
“Many years of research and testing have culminated in the public launch this week of the new, truly unlimited voice, data and Web mobile wireless service from Zer01 Mobile. Thanks to the ingenuity of the Zer01 Mobile engineering team, our new Veritable Mobile Convergence technology allows each smartphone user to make voice calls or transmit data through a VoIP system,” explained Ben Piilani, CEO, Zer01 Mobile.
As many of you might already know, the carrier comes to the market with VoIP technology-enabled services, allowing users to make phone calls over already existing wireless networks. Starting this month, the carrier announced, it will make available a series of Windows Mobile devices that can use its services, yet it will also offer customers the possibility to use their existing handsets, including Android devices or BlackBerry mobile phones.
Zer01 Mobile premiered its service back in April 2009, at the CTIA Wireless Conference in Las Vegas. As a result of the demonstration at the event, Laptop Magazine gave the carrier the “Best Overall Product” Award. According to the company, users will be able to see their phone’s SIM card compatible with Zer01 Mobile's network in less than 5 minutes. Moreover, those interested in using its services will also benefit from international calling to 40 destinations for only $10 per month.
