14 DAY TRIAL // Sprint announced recently the availability of new Nextel Direct Connect Custom Plans that allow businesses to use and pay only for the tools critical to their work, meaning they are offered the possibility to opt for a plan that includes the tools their workgroups use the most. The new plans include unlimited Group Connect, Direct Connect, Mobile-to-Mobile, Picture Mail and Text Messaging for costs starting at $29.99 per month.
According to the company, businesses do not find fit a plan that would be based on monthly anytime voice minutes to which costs for features such as push-to-talk, text messaging and picture mail would add incrementally. The mobile communications tools are used differently when it comes to a business compared to consumers.
The new Nextel Direct Connect Custom Plans offer mainly services for workgroups, which can be used unlimitedly, for a low monthly cost. In addition to that, businesses are able to add a bucket of anytime voice minutes that would be used by the entire workgroup. The new plans offered by Sprint are: Unlimited Workgroup Communications and Web & Navigation, as well as Pooled voice minutes, which can be attached to any of the plans.

The Unlimited Workgroup Communications plan includes unlimited Direct Connect and Group Connect to which unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes, text messaging and night and weekend minutes starting at 9 p.m. are added, all for $29.99 per month per line. The Web & Navigation plan includes the above as well as unlimited data, Web browsing and GPS navigation. The cost ranges from $39.99 per month per line for Nextel phones to $49.99 per month per line for PowerSource and Nextel Direct Connect-capable Sprint phones.
Sprint will make the new Nextel Direct Connect Custom Plans available for business-liable customers who own compatible phones, but also for consumers and individual-liable accounts.
