Many of our readers might remember ZaReason as the company that brought us the interesting ZaTab tablet that we reported about here. This is a California-based custom PC builder that specializes in high-quality, well-built, fully-customizable computing systems.
Now, the company is coming out with another unique solution which is a Linux-optimized customizable notebook.
We don’t exactly know what’s so special about the Linux optimizations, but the company will preinstall various different Linux distributions at the buyer’s request.
Most of the important hardware components of the notebook are completely customizable online on the company’s online shop.
The name of the novelty is UltraLap 430 and the chassis itself looks pretty well-built. It comes with a 14.1” LED backlit display that has the classic 1366 by 768 pixel resolution.
The CPU powering the model is Intel’s Core i3 3217U Ivy Bridge processor, and there’s an optional i5 CPU as well.
Here are the official key features and main specifications :

Pricing starts at just $900 (€736), and the system is really thin, as you can see on the company’s official website.
We have to agree that this is just as thin as any other UltraBook out there, and the Linux sticker is really cool.
