California based custom PC builder ZaReason has just announced the new ZaTab tablet running Android 4.0.3 “Ice Cream Sandwich” operating system, on its official website.

Using a single core ARM Cortex A8 processor along with Mali-400 GPU, ZaTab is not the most powerful ICS tablet on the block, but it claims 14 hours of movie playing battery life.

ZaTab boosts a high quality 9.7” IPS display just like Apple’s iPad, but using the classic 1024x768 pixel resolution.

It weighs just 630 grams and the 8000 mAh battery can also offer up to 9 hours of game playing.

At 1.38 pounds, ZaTab offers an unlocked bootloader, 16 GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot.

Connectivity is very welcoming with an audio headphone jack, a microHDMI video connector and two microUSB ports along with Wireless N networking.

Priced at just 349 USD, ZaTab can be a very useful developer tool or an affordable alternative to the more powerful 10” tablets in the market right now.

For around 280 EUR,  European buyers two front and back cameras, a 5-point capacitive touch screen, significant battery life and lots of connectivity options.
