In today's highly streamed world just designing a Blu-ray player doesn't cut it any more since there are some many other ways to get your movies and TV series that using a optical disk seems highly outdated, so Yamaha's BD-A1000 Blu-ray Disc Player adds video streaming support to the mix to form a highly integrated home theater solution.

But fear not, adding NetFlix, Blockbuster and YouTube Internet video streaming doesn't ruin the overall Yamaha experience, this device coming with every bit of technology that you come to expect from the Japanese company, the BD-A1000 offering full HD Audio decoding, 1080p/24Hz-compatible HDMI and 7.1 multi-channel analog output with four 2-channel DACs.

Yamaha's Blu-ray player also comes with two USB ports, one in front and one in the back, the BD-A1000 being able to playback AVCHD, WMV, JPEG (HD), MP3 and WMA files as well as all the connectivity options that one should expect from a top of the line Blu-ray player.

Add to this impressive list, Ethernet connectivity and an RC-232C port that is fully compatible with Control4's home automation solutions and you pretty much know the BD-A1000 is not your average Blu-ray player.

But I am sure that you already assumed that ever since you first laid eyes on the BD-A1000, its no nonsense, deck like design being a dead giveaway.

"Home theater enthusiasts are demanding versatile content compatibility, and Yamaha offers the most versatile entertainment options," said Tom Sumner, President, Yamaha Electronics Corporation.

"The new Yamaha AVENTAGE BD-A1000 highly enhances the visual and audio experience and is the ideal match for Yamaha's AVENTAGE series of AV receivers."

However, going for such a solution doesn't come cheap, as the BD-A1000 will set you back a hefty $699.95, although I am sure that home theater enthusiasts won't be running scared when confronted with this price tag, especially considering Yamaha's outstanding track record.
