Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson is expected to bring to the market in the near future some new flavors of its Android-based devices. Among them, we can count a so called “X10 mini Fashion Edition,” along with a black flavor of Xperia X8, both of which have already made an appearance into the wild.

It appears that the “X10 Mini Fashion Edition” handset should be released on Orange's airwaves, at least this is what some of the latest news around the Internet suggest.

However, this new flavor of the device does not appear to include anything more than some colorful interchangeable back covers, as the guys over at EuroDroid note in a recent article.

The mobile phone should be released exclusively at Orange, but no info on when exactly it would be made available for purchase emerged for the time being.

As for the black flavor of Xperia X8, the cheaper Android-based device from Sony Ericsson, it was brought to light by phandroid, and can be seen in the video embedded at the bottom of this article.

No official info on the handset's arrival on shelves surfaced for the time being, but the news site published a series of official press shots with it, stating that we should be able to purchase it during this holiday season.

In related news, we learn that Sony Ericsson confirmed again that the X8 is set to taste an Android 2.1 software update before the end of the ongoing year.

Sony Ericsson started rolling-out the solution to its Xperia X10 devices at the end of October, and says that is should be able to upgrade all devices out there in a few weeks.

No specific release date for Android 2.1 for Xperia X8 was unveiled, but things are reportedly moving in the right direction, and we should learn something officially on this soon.
