Japanese-Swedish Joint venture Sony Ericsson might soon unveil to the world another Android-based device, one that has just popped-up into the wild, and which is said to sport the codename Robyn. The new handset comes as a mini version of the already widely known and expected Xperia X10; yet, it seems that the proper details on it are missing at the moment.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini (Robyn) made it into the wild courtesy of some photos that emerged over at GSM Arena, which show a handset that looks about the same as the Xperia X10, except maybe for the fact that its dimensions are considerably reduced. However, Android and a touchscreen display are still expected to be there, it seems. Another series of images with the handset is available over at PointGPhone.

At the same time, the mini X10 should also come to the market with 3G connectivity, an integrated photo snapper, and with great social networking connectivity options, including access to Facebook and Twitter. The most interesting feature of the handset is said to be the fact that it will come in more than one color version, though nothing specific on this area is known either.

When compared to the Xperia X10, Robyn is said to be twice as small, something that should prove pretty interesting, considering that most of the latest handsets around come with larger and larger screens. Unfortunately, nothing more is known on the handset for the time being, though additional info should emerge as the device approaches its launch date.

In the meantime, we should take a look at one of the latest rumors on the larger Xperia X10. According to a recent post on the semcblog, the handset is expected to land only in March, though previous reports suggested it would come in January or February, the latest. The delay might be caused by plans to pack it with a new version of the Android OS, yet nothing is officially known at the moment.
