Sony Ericsson's latest phones were meant to impress the world, and they certainly managed to do so, each of them in its very own way, but none included the specs and looks of Xperia Grip, which is only a concept phone for the time being.

The new device might never become reality, or, if it does, it might sport different looks of different specifications, that's for sure, but it can already seem very attractive to enthusiasts, that's for sure.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Grip sports a rugged form factor, something that was not seen before on the company's devices, and which makes it so distinct. The phone sports an ergonomic design.

But there's more to it, as the new mobile phone also comes with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform on board, at least this is how user angad2050 from Esato imagined it.

With Google I/O set to kick off as soon as tomorrow, chances are that this idea would prove to be closer to reality than some might believe.

Google already announced that certain Honeycomb features would be pushed to smartphones as well, and the said conference might be just the place to announce more on the matter.

Of course, Xperia Grip won't be unveiled tomorrow, but the idea of having a mobile phone running under the OS flavor meant for tablet PCs does sound intriguing.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone also includes a 4.2-inch Sony BRAVIA Mobile Display LED touchscreen, along with a 1.2GHz Snapdragon application processor, which would most certainly be a dual-core one.

Moreover, the Xperia Grip would sport 1GB of RAM, which should pair nicely with the processor, as well as a 10-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with flash, auto focus and with 720p HD video recording capabilities.

The smartphone should include 4G support, WiFi connectivity, along with a built-in GPS receiver, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
