Tri-dimensional eyewear seems to be a hot top at this years CES as another company has unveiled its take on 3D glasses, the Xpand Youniversal optimizing the final viewing experience by modifying the 3D parameters specifically for each user and for different 3D environments.

In order to do so, the glasses are accompanied by a specialized smart phone application that analyzes the eye and facial structure of the user and adapts Spand's 3D eyewear accordingly.

Available for Apple's iPhone and Google Android, the app will reach other mobile operating systems soon, Windows Phone 7 being probably next in line.

But one of the most important aspects of custom 3D eyewear is the communications standards they support as various vendors use various methods of transmitting the sync signal to the glasses.

For this reason Xpand added infrared, Bluetooth, radio frequency and DLP-Link connectivity to the Youniversal, covering almost every 3D sync standard in existence.

In addition, the company states that these are the lightest and the fastest active shutter glasses available in the market while being also able to deliver Full HD 3D performance.

“The Youniversal glasses put you in universal,” said Maria Costeira, CEO of Xpand.

“Recognizing that no two people view 3D in the exact same way, we have designed our electronic eyewear to comprehensively address the unique differences in people’s vision, the viewing environment and selection of 3D devices.

In doing so, we’re creating the ultimate 3D experience,” concluded the company's rep.

Xpand's Youniveral glasses will become available in April 2011 in black, gray and red, both in female and male sizes, pricing to be established at a later date.
