Microsoft decides to act on firmware hacks

Many Xbox 360 owners were happy to know that by installing a hack, they could play backups on their game console. Quite a few months ago, Microsoft found out about this thing and since then, they did nothing about it.

Xboxic reports that after the level of piracy increased so much and after the firmware hacks inventor declared that his mods were easily detectable, Microsoft has decided to do something about it. What kind of action will Microsoft take against them is not revealed but maybe they forget who they are ended to, meaning those who buy their original games and consoles. Is this allowing console modding fair to them?

A post on the official Xbox forum reads a complaint of an Xbox owner who can not connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace. He is given a message from which it results that his console is modded. He emphasizes the fact that he does not have a modded console. Looks like Microsoft are aiming their efforts at the wrong people. A member of the Xbox Support Staff responded to his post and assured him that the Xbox team will further investigate this issue.

OK, this is an isolated case, but what happens when and if more complaints will appear?
