Wireless carrier 3UK recently announced the extension of its unique partnership with Spotify and the availability of Spotify Premium for free for two months, as part of its focus on emphasizing the usage of mobile Internet and services people need. The offer has been put in place for all customers set to purchase a Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 or Vivaz device from the carrier.

“We’re excited to be able to offer this great Spotify Premium promotion on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and Vivaz. Spotify Premium on mobile gives our customers the ability to enjoy and share music on the go at the best value. Our powerful network and commitment to internet services means customers get to experience the best of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and Spotify on the move,” Sylvia Chind, head of Branded Device, 3UK, stated.

The XPERIA X10 is the first handset Sony Ericsson releases to the market with Google's Android operating system on board, and it is also the first such handset 3UK adds to its offering. The mobile phone packs a series of applications developed by its maker, such as Timescape, a software solution designed to bring the communication with one person in a single place, including updates from Facebook or Twitter, text messages, emails and Spotify tracks.

“Offering two months Spotify Premium is a great way for new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and Vivaz customers on 3 to experience a simple yet powerful portable music experience. We’re excited to be working with 3 and Sony Ericsson to bring Spotify to even more UK music fans,” Faisal Galaria, global head of Business Development at Spotify, added.

According to the wireless carrier, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and Vivaz customers can benefit from the free Spotify Premium for 2 months by texting “Spotify” to 39000. Users will receive a text message with a link to create a new Spotify ID, or use an existing account, and to enjoy the free promotion. After the 2-month period is over, customers will have to pay £9.99 a month to continue using Spotify Premium, but they can cancel it at any time, with 30-day notice, the wireless carrier concluded.
