We've managed to come across plenty of iPad cases over the past couple of months, but the one you'll read about as follows really takes the cake, since it certainly seems to be, at least when this article was written, the world's most expensive such accessory. As JustLuxe informs us, the respective accessory has been designed and created by a California-based boutique luxury brand called David August, specialized in creating custom clothing and accessories for the world's most famous and richest people. The iPad case we've mentioned earlier is a part of a newly-released 5-piece collection of exotic leather goods and has apparently been crafted from alligator skin, hand cut and stitched in Italy by a skilled family of artisans, which sorts of explains its huge price point, of around 6,900 US dollars. Similar to the other items in the collection, the iPad case is available in both a glazed and matte finish in over 20 different colors, so that the rich iPad owners will be able to choose the exact version that best suits their tastes. Beside the case, the collection also includes a soft laptop attaché case for $12,900, a Dopp kit for $7,800, a watch holder for $7,800, and a change tray for $2,400. As we pretty much expected, all items are made strictly to order with a 2–4 week delivery time and several personal customizing options are available as well (again, this comes as no surprise, given the fact that, after all, the overall price of the entire collection is set at $37,800). Leaving aside the fact that the alligator skin iPad case is a whole lot more expensive than any other protective case out there, it's actually 14 times more costly than the Apple tablet itself, but, then again, that's never been a problem for the rich and famous, has it?
